After a chance conversation I have found out that Vodaphone have a modem with a SIM card that plugs in to your laptop and hey presto you are on line. All you need to do is Top up in the same way as you would a mobile.

I wish I had known this 8 weeks ago!!!!

Anyway this means I can finally try and catch up on travel log.

See you all soon

I deleted the previous entry here as I have now added a page to cover this topic.

I have a few entries to make to catch up as I have not had as much web time as I had hoped but over the next few days hopefully we will be right up to date.

I also hope to have a link established to a photosite or at least some pics on the gallery page soon so keep a look out.

Cheers and see you soon

Farewel to Edinburgh Gig
Ian on 10/18/2007 at 1:09am (UTC)
September 5th at the Mercat bar in Haymarket was the venue for our farewell to Edinburgh night out. Things did not start to well on the gig side as mega problems with sound and recording equipment caused a long delay, however with plenty food and drink flowing everyone was kept suitably occupied.

After a couple of guest spots the time came for me to perform. With Craig McKinnie on Mandolin, Billy Craib on Bass and Martin Boland on Guitar and backing vocals we ran through an hour long set. Our invited audience gave us a warm reception and support throughout. However I have to say that due to the hold ups and techie probs coupled with an unusually subdued performance I was not entirely happy at the outcome so have still not decided on whether or not to finalise a CD from the night.

That said a good night was had by all.

Recording has begun but then faltered
Ian on 08/09/2007 at 12:13am (UTC)
Well I finally started laying down some rough tracks for recording but due to work and travel plans it looks like I will have to put it off again, however I am playing a farewell gig in Sept and hope to have it recorded.

I had planned on this CD being called Solitary Man but as I used that track on the Idle Beggars CD I am having a rethink.

I am heading off around Europe with my partner Jackie and one of my trusty old Guitars in September,
Starting in Aachen, Germany.
I aim to promote myself along the way with a view to returning again next year.
Watch this space for further details.

Ian on 08/06/2007 at 2:45am (UTC)
Well for various reasons I've not been keeping the site up to date but now I am back and things are happening.

CD - At last recording starts on Tuesday 07th August.
This is the solo part and hopefully I can add demos to the music page soon.
