This weekned is pretty busy, I am playing on Sataurday afternoon at the Currie RFC BBQ, Saturday evening I am doing my regular session in the Royal Oak and Sunday my afternoon session in the Grey Horse Balern. with some other personal things that I need doing i may be a bit short on time. Sorry Jacs!!

Hoping to be picking up a few more gigs soon so all in all things are still going well.

I have been moving up the reverbnation charts so check out my pages there.

Cheers for now

On the up and Happy

Can things keep going like this? ... I hope so.
The new job is going pretty well and I am enjoying my gigs at the moment.

I met a guy a few weeks ago, whilst playing in the Grey Horse Balerno, and it turned out that he was a bass player. Gordon or Oz as he prefers (yep he's from the far south east) asked if he could bring his bass along to my next gig there and play along on a few songs. So of course I said No chance!!.... just kidding.
Well he did and it was not a bad night so asked if I would be interested in maybe doing a few gigs with him as he had a possible opportunity. So we agreed and on Monday we got confirmation that some gigs would be made available, so we are just waiting on dates.

I am still recording but slowed down a bit due to the new job but hoping that it will pick up again shortly.

All I want now is for the good weather to hit for the summer and life would be almost perfect.

Catch you all soon

The light is shining again

I can say with hand on my heart that I have finally passed through the end of a dark tunnel that, at times, was getting me down.

Starting a new job, getting some gigs and then to cap it all I am doing some recording and may actually get my Solitary Man CD completed. It has only been about 2 years since I wanted to do this!!!!
Unfortunately I do not have the funding to go into a studio but with the help of my nephew, Allan Robertson, who has a pretty good home recording set up we shall get something pretty decent.

As you will see on my music page I have linked the my space player so songs are available here. I am hoping to get a different player soon.

Anyway that is the news for now so take care everyone and thanks to all who take the time to come to my web pages. It would be great to get some comments.

Cheers
Ian

Things are on the up again

Today has been a mixed fortune day.

Had a bit of a run in with some p***** in a goverment office today which was a pain. So much for all the help we are supposed to be getting during this economic hellhole period!!

Then got some news about possibilities of another venue to gig at (keeping fingers crossed)

But best news was that I got a job offer and I start within the next couple of weeks, so that eases some of the pressure that me and Jackie have been feeling lately.

Here's hoping the luck is changing

Talk again soon
Cheers

Weekly Session at The Royal Oak Edinburgh
Ian on 04/08/2009 at 4:32pm (UTC)
 It has just been confirmed....
I am returning to the Royal Oak in Edinburgh for a weekly Acoustic session every Saturday from 1800-2130hrs starting 11 April.

Singers and musicians are more than welcome.

The Royal Oak is voted one of the best small music venues in Scotland every year.

I am also actively seeking out some more venues to play so any ideas welcome.

Cheers
Ian

It's been a while!!!

Well I have not updated the news page for a while, that's for several reasons the main one being any news I have had lately has been bad.

Still got to get on with things and hope that life will move back up the way.

Credit crunch is certainly affecting this person anyway. I cannot get any real work and the music side is very slow. Nobody wants to commit anywhere.

On the bright side I have some sessions to run in the Royal Oak Edinburgh and have got fairly regular gigs in the Grey Horse Balerno (see gig page for details)

Well if anybody has any work out there give me a shout.

Cheers and take care
Ian
